Licenciado proudly introduces ‘Etherlight’, the first solo exhibition of Paolo Montiel that includes four installations of light art ‘in situ’.
‘Qatsi’ evokes human life as a light surrounded by stars, a work where a spotlight levitates and rotates on its axis by means of an electromagnetic effect based on Tesla technology. The spotlight is placed at the center of an infinite landscape that can be admired from any angle. Despite its small format the visual effect is monumental and boundless.
‘Kostuum Pluvia’ is a lighting installation referred to the “light and space” movement of California, a dialogue of light and its tonalities with its binary rhythms, the perception of space, the sensory effect and the viewer’s ’emotive’.
‘Dorai and Tiamant’ talks about portals that look forward to make us think about the origin of the planet. It is a triangular spiral of infinite light that emulates the millennial gap that lead to the origin of the Earth. The piece provides a moment of dialogue from an introspection in the own conscience, in an attempt to make us remember our existential origin.
‘Pix Lib’ is a study of colors and space. Inside the installation, colors float and play with rhythm to create a fusion between light & space movement and op art, a hypnotic beat where the viewer perceives more things than the ones that actually happen.
