Lucas Lugarinho is currently based in Mexico City.
He graduated in Painting by the Universidade Federal of Rio de Janeiro, in 2016, and as well attended to the Visual Arts career as an exchange student abroad in the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, during the academic year of 2014. Before moving to the field of arts, he studied Telecommunications at CEFET-RJ, a formation that had a great impact on his approach and interests towards art. In 2016 he had the opportunity to develop an art project with the aid of the Foreign Relations Secretary of México (SRE), which culminated in his first individual exhibition, Mitomania, at Pandeo (Mexico City/ Mexico). Since living in Mexico City from 2018, he has collaborated with Mexican public institutions, such as the Museo de la Ciudad de México and the Museo de la Ciudad de Querétaro, as well as with independent spaces and galleries like Salón Silicón and Bikini Wax, having the opportunity to occasionally exhibit in Rio de Janeiro and most recently, New York.
In 2020, and during Art Week Mexico, was the opening of his second solo show in Licenciado Gallery, entitled HyperTale, and started working on a commission granted by CIFO Art Foundation. In 2021 he presented his first museum solo show at the Museo de Arte Carrillo GiI, entitled ADpocalypse, and is currently studying a Master degree in Visual Arts at the Dutch Art Institute (DAI).
