The Flag is a piece of fabric (most often rectangular or quadrilateral) with a distinctive design and colours. It is used as a symbol, a signalling device.
National flags are patriotic symbols with widely varied interpretations that often include strong military associations because of their original graphic features.
Stephan Ach´s approach into his Flags series depict and evokes the postmodern interpretation of a flag to signal an internal emotional state of awareness, it does not represent a symbol of a territorial demarcation, or a political stand. It aims to the urgent need to trascend the borders of Country, or Religion into a wider spiritual sense of being.
An entirely new narrative of symbols for the utopia of the universal well being for all humans, animals and plants being one harmonic being under the sky.
